Abstract
Operational experience feedback has numerous attraction and promises in all major industrial activities and this is especially important for nuclear power plants. Potential for the use of operational experience feedback is in both increased availability and improved safety of nuclear power plant. Difficulties to achieve safety improvement from operational experience feedback are fundamental (i.e., stochastic complex models for connecting causes and consequences) and specific (i.e., data collection imperfection and limited experience exchange). The challenges are to increase access to industry wide operational experience and to properly understand operational experience relevance. The panel will discusses number of issues related to fundamental and specific issues related to the plant, national and international effort to collect, assess and use operational experience feedback to improve safety of nuclear power plants.
